Willa Fisher

Willa FisherWilla J. Fisher, 74, of Astoria died at 8:15 p.m. April 3, 2013, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born March 28, 1939, in Beardstown, a daughter of William Henry and Ila Adeline Fritz Swan. She married Richard Wayne Fisher on Oct. 28, 1956, in Beardstown. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Dick (and Linda) Fisher, Hank Fisher and Joe (and Angie) Fisher, all of Astoria; one daughter, Jody (and Dick) Davis of Astoria; two brothers, Harold Swan of Beardstown and Henry Swan of Savannah; two sisters, Virginia Hood and Nancy Mahar, both of Beardstown; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jessica Fisher; and four brothers, Perry, Charles, Robert and Jim Swan.

She worked at Atwood in Havana. She then worked for Astoria Fibra Steel, Caterpillar in Mapleton and last worked in the deli at Day and Palin in Lewistown.

She was a member of Summum Christian Church and UAW Local 974 of East Peoria.

Services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Fred Fritz officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery in Astoria.

Memorials may be made to Jessica Fisher Playground Fund in care of Summum Christian Church.
