Richard "Dick" DavisRichard “Dick” A. Davis, 65, of Astoria died at 9:48 a.m. April 30, 2018, at his home.

He was born Feb. 6, 1953, in Canton, a son of Whitney and Norma Siler Davis. He married Jody Fisher-Welker on Oct. 26, 1996, at their home in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Brandon L. Welker, Whitney J. (and Jordyn) Davis and Chase R. (and fiancée Lyndsey) Davis, all of Astoria; one daughter, Brandy Welker of Astoria; two brothers, Mike (and Peg) Davis of Rushville and Jon Davis of Florida; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Jill Elliott.

He worked at International Harvester for 10 years. He then worked construction and became a Union Carpenter. As a carpenter, he became a Carpenter Superintendent for River City Construction, where he proudly worked for 26 years and retired from in 2012.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Ben Murray officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the memorial home. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service on Thursday.
