HUBERT W. FAIRBURN

Hubert Fairburn

Hubert W. Fairburn, 81, of Canton, died at 2:27 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1995, at Graham Hospital Extended Care Unit.

He was born Dec. 8, 1913, in Canton, a son of Terrance A. and Nellie P. Weaver Fairburn. He married Bernice W. Herrick on March 6, 1937, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Leonard E. of Dunfermline and William R. of Havana; three brothers, Ernest of Paris, Tenn., Carlos of Canton and Delbert of Ellery; two sisters, Leona Boyer and Marie Hallam, both of Canton; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

One son, Hubert Wayne; one brother; one sister; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren preceded him in death.

He was a farmhand in the Canton area for 30 years. He later worked for Parrish Fertilizer. He last worked for Dana Corp. in Havana, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 784.

Funeral services were held Friday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home with Rev. John Churchill officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Buckheart Rescue Squad or the Spoon River Hospice Association.
