LEONA (FAIRBURN) BOYER

Leona Boyer

Leona Boyer, 93, of Canton died at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.

She was born Sept. 21, 1909, in Farmington, a daughter of T. A. and Pearl Weaver Fairburn. She married Cecil G. Boyer on Oct. 10, 1928, in Canton. He preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are one son, Larry (and Sandra) of Decatur; one daughter, Melba Brewer of St. Louis; two brothers, Ernest "Breezie" Fairburn of Springville, Tenn., and Delbert Fairburn of Astoria; one sister, Marie Hallam of Canton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She had worked for the overall factory in Canton and later worked for Carter Auction Services.

She was a member of Women of the Moose, Fulton County Senior Group and Fulton County League of Democratic Women.

Women of the Moose services were held Saturday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where funeral services followed with Rev. Robert Holler officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
