Phillip Danner

Phillip Lee Danner, 71, of Easton died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2004, at his home.

He was born Jan. 14, 1933, in Adair, a son of Melvin and Viola Gruber Danner. He married Louise Shaw on Feb. 17, 1951. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Tim (and Jan) of Forest City; two daughters, Phyllis (and Steven) Pilger of Havana and Helen (and Jimmy) Baucom of Clayton; one brother, Dayle of Canton; three sisters, Audrey Bucy and Miriam Bushnell, both of Springfield, and Shirley Mathis of Wickenburg, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, June Dutton Smith, Margaret Kepple, Betty Cox and Virginia Lee Danner.

A member of United Auto Workers Local 974 and Caterpillar Retirees, he worked in quality control at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 31 years, retiring on July 1, 1981. He also did yard work for 30 years.

He was a member of Chandlerville Lodge 724, AF&AM; Order of the Eastern Star, Chandlerville Chapter 544; Ansar Shrine in Springfield; and Wheels of Ansar Shrine.

Services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or to his Masonic Lodge.
