Shirley MathisShirley MathisShirley (Danner) Mathis, 88, of Wickenburg, Ariz., died July 31, 2010, in Glendale, Ariz.
She was born April 5, 1922, in Astoria, a daughter of Melvin and Viola Danner. She married Carl Mathis on May 19, 1944, at the Naval Base in Pensacola, Fla. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Skip, Jim and David; two daughters, Sharon (and Mark) McElroy and Joyce Lichtenwalter; two sisters, Audrey Bucy and Miriam Bushnell; one brother, Dayle Danner; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Virginia, June, Margaret and Betty; and one brother, Phillip.
She was in World War II in the Navy WAVE.
Services were held Thursday at Heritage Funeral Chapel in Peoria, Ariz.
