David R. Dohner Of Astoria Dies

David R. Dohner, 84, lifetime resident of the Astoria and Vermont area, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, March 21, in Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born on March 2, 1892, in Pine Grove, Pa., a son of Samuel and Salinda Royer Dohner. On Nov. 24, 1917, he was married to Ethel Rowland in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert Dohner of Vermont and Dr. Russell Dohner of Rushville; five daughters, Mrs. Doris Cook of Normal, Mrs. Beula Garrabrant of Peoria, Mrs. Lydia Copes of Vermont, Miss Norma Dohner of Elgin, and Miss Clarice Dohner of Astoria; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Kintzel of Hollandale, Fla.

Five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Astoria Church of the Brethren where funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. D. Arnold Naff officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Those who wish may contribute to a memorial fund at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
