Galyn Danner, 55, Dies Thursday

Galyn L. Danner, 55, died Thursday morning in the Mason District hospital in Havana, where he had been a patient three days. He had been in ill health the past 5½ years.

An Astoria area resident most of his life, “Bill” as so many of his friends knew him, was born in Summum July 7, 1905, a son of Jesse and Rebecca Lindsey Danner. He was married to Christine L. Bucher on Nov. 1, 1927.

Survivors include the widow, one son, Jack Danner, and one daughter, Mrs. Sandra Ann Cox, both of Astoria; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Stella B. Kingery of Pittsburg, Pa., and Mrs. Matilda Demaret of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, M. H. Danner of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and Floyd E. Danner of Canton; and one step-sister, Mrs. Phyllis Kost of Astoria.

Mr. Danner was a member of the Astoria Christian Church where funeral services were held Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Forrest Wise and Rev. Joseph Gift officiating. Burial was in the Astoria memorial mausoleum.
