Christene L. "Peg" Danner, 93, of Astoria died at 8:50 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was born June 8, 1909, in Astoria, the daughter of Harvey and Stella McCormick Bucher. She married Galyn L. "Bill" Danner on Nov. 1, 1927, in Astoria. He died March 23, 1961.
Surviving are one son, Jack (and Linda) of Astoria; one daughter, Sandra Howell of Astoria; two brothers, Bernard Bucher of Macomb and Hobart (and Bonnie) Bucher of Peoria; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Astoria Christian Church.
Services were held Monday at her church with Gary Sheets officiating. Entombment was in Astoria Memorial Mausoleum. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to her church or to Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
