Jack Danner

Jack L. Danner, 84, of Astoria died at 3:55 a.m. Nov. 9, 2017, at Havana Health Care Center.

He was born May 26, 1933, in Minonk, the son of Galyn and Christene Bucher Danner. He married Linda Hamblin on Feb. 6, 1953, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Debra Bailey and Anita (and Steve) Burget, both of Havana, and Patty Kolves of Astoria; one sister, Sandra Howell of Astoria; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Spires.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local #409 of Peoria.

He was an Army veteran serving from 1953-55 in the 964th Engineer’s Co. with a rank of Corporal.

He was a member of Operating Engineer’s Local #409 of Peoria, Astoria American Legion Post #25 where he was Past Commander and the Lewistown VFW Post #5001.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Gary Sheets officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.
