In Memoriam

SIXTEEN — Rebecca A. Lindsey was the youngest child of James and Hileyann Lindsey and was born in Fulton Co., near Ipava, Ill., April 27th, 1863.

Sept. 23rd, 1880, she was married to Jesse Danner. Five children were born to them: Estella B. Kingery, Maurice H., Floyd E., Matilda O., and Galyn L. Danner all who reside in Summum except Maurice H., who resides at Lamar, Nebraska.

Her home and the care of her family has always been her earthly blessing. She united with the Christian Church at Table Grove at the tender age of twelve years, and has continued to live in the grace of her Lord, up to the time of her death, always being a constant worker in the church and Sunday School. She was suddenly stricken Wednesday morning, March 22, 1911, at 2 o’clock with that terrible malady paralysis and was held in its awful clutches until 7:00 o’clock, Monday evening, March 27th, when death relieved her of her suffering, she fell peacefully asleep, in the arms of her Blessed Savior, her soul took its flight back to the God who gave it, and she went up higher, to be with loved ones gone before, aged 47 years and 11 months. In the death of Sister Danner the husband and children suffer the loss of a loving wife and mother, the church and aid society, a faithful member and worker, but our loss is her eternal gain.

The high esteem in which she was held in this community was shown by the immense crowd that attended the funeral and the many beautiful floral offerings contributed by the Modern Woodmen, The Loyal Daughters, The Aid Society and Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey.

Eld. M. T. Cooper, of Ipava, Ill., preached impressive funeral sermon from the 14th chap. of John taking for his text, the beautiful words of our Savior, “Let not your heart by troubled.” Six young men, members of the M. W. A. lodge acted as pallbearers and her remains were laid to rest in the Summum cemetery.

The husband and children are desirous of expressing their sincere thanks and appreciation to their friends and neighbors who so kindly extended the them their sympathy and aid.
