James Derry Passed Away At Canton Hospital

James Monroe Derry, 64, of Astoria, died Friday morning at the Graham hospital, Canton, where he had been a patient for twelve days.

Mr. Derry was born in Vermont township, Sept. 20, 1878, a son of Jacob and Rachel (Clark) Derry. He was married to Mabel Foster, who survives, together with five children, Herman and Herschel at home, Mrs. Loa Mitchell of Mt. Sterling, Mrs. Emmett Snowden of Astoria, and Mrs. Charles Powell of Abingdon; and eight brothers and sisters, George Derry and Mrs. Alice Sowers of Ipava, Lewis Derry and Mrs. Lillian Brown of Astoria, Mrs. Olive Van Sycle of Panora, Iowa, Mrs. Mary Derry of Jefferson, Iowa, and Mrs. Nellie Samuels, Lindon, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Horton Funeral parlors conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson. Burial in the Astoria cemetery.
