Miss Kathryn S. Danner Dies At Home Of Sister

Miss Kathryn S. Danner died Sunday evening at the home of her sister, Mrs. James Trayner, with whom she made her home for the past twenty-five years.

She was the daughter of Jesse S. and Catherine Schaffer Danner and was born June 5, 1867 in Woodland township, where she lived until 1916.

“Cassie,” as she was familiarly known, accepted Christ as her Savior when about 20 years old and united with the Church of the Brethren.

She had been in failing health for a number of years but was seriously ill only about one week. She was aged 74 years and 3 days.

Surviving to mourn her passing are two brothers, Samuel S. and William S. Danner, Astoria; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Trayner, Astoria, and Mrs. Farie Pettigrew of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and nineteen nieces and nephews. A brother and a sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Astoria Church of the Brethren, by the pastor, Rev. Lester E. Fike. She was laid to rest in the Woodland cemetery.
