Woodland Twp. Resident Dies

Samuel S. Danner Passed Away At Age Of 82; Funeral Sunday

Samuel S. Danner died at his home at Leeseburg last Thursday, aged 82 years, 5 months and 26 days.

He was born in York county, Pa., March 13, 1861, the son of Jessie and Catherine Schafer Danner.

Mr. Danner is survived by one brother, William S. Danner of Astoria, two sisters, Mrs. James Trayner of Astoria and Mrs. Sarah Pettigrew of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Mr. Danner came to Illinois from Pennsylvania with his parents when a small boy and located in Woodland township, where he spent his entire life. He was never married.

In his younger days he followed the occupation of thrasher with his father. Later in life he led a quiet life, seldom leaving his home.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Woodland church, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson, assisted by Rev. K. F. Sherfy. Burial in Woodland cemetery.
