Sara Conlin

Sara M. Conlin, 68, of Bloomington, formerly of Astoria died at 2 a.m. July 4, 2012, at Martin Healthcare in Bloomington.

She was born Oct. 25, 1943, in Rushville, a daughter of Emery and Dorothy Hiles Phillips. She married Allan R. Conlin on Sept. 3, 1971, in Astoria. He survives.

Also surviving are her children, Lori (and Kent) Walters of Bloomington, John (and Beth) Baker of Browning, Mark Conlin and Craig (and Tina) Conlin, both of Orland Park, Jay (and Terri) Conlin of La Vista, Neb., and Scott Conlin of Macomb; four sisters, Shirley (and Alan) Baker of Bull Head, Ariz., Norma (and Bob) Jones of Severna Park, Md., Rosemary (and Byron) Root of Pawnee and Carol Lynn Kokenes of Chicago; one brother, Terry Phillips of Rushville; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bob Phillips; and one step-granddaughter.

She lived most of her life in Astoria before moving to Bloomington in 2012. She worked for Farmers State Bank of Astoria for almost 40 years in many capacities. She also was treasurer for Astoria for many years and served as mayor.

She was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Astoria Cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.
