Allan Conlin

Allan R. Conlin, 82, of Macomb, formerly of Astoria, died at 2:51 p.m. June 25, 2014, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Oct. 8, 1931, in Elmhurst, the son of Harley L. and Minnie Witte Conlin. He married Lorena June Downes in November, 1957. She passed away on Nov. 8, 1970. He then married Sara Phillips Baker on Sept. 3, 1971. She passed away July 4, 2012.

Surviving are four sons, Mark Conlin of Homer Glen, Jay (and Terri) Conlin of La Vista, Neb., Craig Conlin of Orland Park and Scott Conlin of Macomb; two stepchildren, Lori (and Kent) Walters of Bloomington and John (and Beth) Baker of Browning; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

He lived in Astoria since 1962 before moving to Bloomington and then to Macomb, both in 2012. He worked for 3M Corporation for 20 years.

He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War from 1951-53.

He was a member of Astoria American Legion, Vermont Masonic Lodge and Astoria United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at Wesley Village Lounge in Macomb with Reverend Wally Holt officiating. Graveside inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Astoria Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
