Dorothy R. Phillips, 81, of Rushville died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Vencor Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Nov. 16, 1918, in Beardstown, the daughter of Lou and Margarite Lawler Hiles. She married Emery Phillips on Feb. 4, 1935, in Oquawka. He died May 6, 1992.
She also was preceded in death by one brother.
Surviving are five daughters, Sara Conlin of Astoria, Rose Root of Pawnee, Lynn Kokenes of Berwyn, Shirley Baker of Golden Valley, Ariz., and Norma Jones of Severna Park, Md.; two sons, Robert and Terry, both of Rushville; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Maurice Hiles.
Services will be held Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Bonser officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hughes Cemetery west of Rushville.
