Ida CluneyIda Ferne Cluney, 82, of Astoria died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at 6 a.m. at her home.

She was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Fulton County, a daughter of Verner C. Darel and Goldie Alverta Sowers Smith. She married Darrell K. "Bud" Cluney on Dec. 20, 1936. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Melba Jean (and Donald) Lindsey of Astoria, Judith (and Willis) Mason of Springfield, Ohio, Mary (and Ronald) Herrera of Auburn, Calif.; two sons, Kenneth (and Judy) Cluney of Chillicothe and Terry (and Carol) Cluney of Peoria; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Roudebush of Rushville; and one brother, Albert (and Delores) Smith of Havana.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Dalbert Smith; two sisters, Pearl Workman and Evelyn Rowe; and one grandson, Glen Dale Batterton.

She was a member of the Astoria Christian Church and the Astoria Sunshine Club.

She was a homemaker and an election judge in Woodland Township for many years.

Services were held Tuesday at her church with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital Hospice Program or her church.
