Mrs. Goldie A. Smith, 89, lifetime resident of the Summum area, died early Tuesday morning, Nov. 4, 1975, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Ferne Cluney of Summum.
She was born March 11, 1886, near Ipava, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sowers. She was married on Dec. 7, 1903, to Verner C. Darel Smith at Ipava. He died on July 9, 1974.
She was a member of the Summum Christian Church.
Surviving are three sons, Ernest of Summum, Dalbert of Lewistown and Albert of Havana; four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Rowe of Lewistown, Mrs. Marie Hulvey of Rushville, Mrs. Pearl Workman of Astoria and Mrs. Ida Ferne Cluney of Summum; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 11 great, great-grandchildren; and one half-sister, Mrs. Lela Galliher of Vermont.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and one half-brother.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in the Summum Cemetery.
Friends may call at Shawgo’s after 4:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
