Bluff City Infant Dies At Hospital In Springfield

Allen O’Neil Clayton, was born to Leroy and Mary Crable Clayton at Bluff City, on February 12, 1939. He died in the St. Johns hospital in Springfield, Illinois, on January 5, 1941 at the age of 1 year, 10 months and 24 days.

Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers: Gerald, Delbert and Lilburn Clayton, all at home, and three grandparents, Mrs. Nellie Crable of Bluff City and Mrs. John Clayton of Camden.

Funeral services were conducted in the Horton Funeral Home in Astoria at 11 a.m. Tuesday, by the Rev. Lester E. Fike, pastor of the Astoria Church of the Brethren. Burial in the Astoria cemetery.
