Alice Avinoll Bucy, 100, of 175 Sycamore Drive, Lewistown, formerly of Astoria, died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1996, at Prairieview Care Center in Lewistown.
She was born Jan. 8, 1896, in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, the daughter of James and Rebecca Bryant Mendenhall. She married Earnest W. Bucy on Jan. 30, 1913, in Lewistown. He died Nov. 18, 1975. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Dwight Bucy and Donald Bucy, and one infant daughter.
Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Mildred Bucy of Astoria and Donna Moore of Bath; five grandchildren, Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Schisler of Astoria, Mrs. Tom (Phyllis) Groutage of Carterville, Phillip Bucy of Fort Mill, S.C., Jewell Bucy of Lewistown, and Mrs. David (Pam) Gamber of East Peoria; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Astoria United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Lance Leeds officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening at Shawgo Memorial Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
