Andrew B. Burgard Dies At Age 69

Andrew B. Burgard, 69, of Astoria died early Monday morning at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville. He had been in failing health for the past four years.

He was born Dec. 23, 1899 near Astoria, the son of Pius and Elizabeth Gruber Burgard. He was married Dec. 12, 1928, at Rushville to Irma E. Bollinger.

He was a member of the Astoria Church of the Nazarene and the past 13 years had served as night policeman at Astoria.

Surviving are the widow; a son, Lester of Bath; a daughter, Mrs. Marian Husemann of Mt. Sterling; two brothers, Herschel of Browning and Galen of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Hults of Naperville, and Mrs. Lulu Baker of Dixon; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Astoria Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Lamoyne Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Browning Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
