Mrs. Laila E. Ames, 80, of Table Grove, died at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 1979, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
Born Sept. 11, 1899, in Smithfield, she was a daughter of John and Maryanna Jones Deford. She married Jesse Ames Aug. 6, 1924, in Macomb.
She had been a teacher. She was a member of Table Grove Community Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Home Bureau.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Max (Bernita) Arnett of Table Grove; one son, Donald of Table Grove; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Deford of Canton; and a sister, Mrs. Eloise Bobo of Springfield.
A son, a brother and a sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. this afternoon in the Table Grove Community Church with Rev. Carl H. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery. Kost Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.
