VeteranErnest W. Ames Dies In Kentucky

Ernest Wendell Ames, 55, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Table Grove, died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 22, 1975, in the Veterans’ Hospital at Louisville.

Mr. Ames was an Army veteran of World War II and from 1959 to 1966 operated a service station in Toma, Wisc. He was a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church at Louisville.

Born Oct. 25, 1919, in Adair, a son of Jesse and Laila DeFord Ames, he married Zelma Maxine Groff at Palmyra, Mo., Aug. 7, 1939.

Surviving are his parents of Table Grove; his wife; one daughter, Mrs. William (Dixie) Russell of Bath; two sons, Jerry L. and Donald Edward, both of Louisville; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bernita Arnett of Table Grove; and one brother, Donald of Vermont, Ill.

One daughter died in infancy.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. James Costillo officiating. Burial was in the Ipava Cemetery.
