ROSALEE (WERNER) WICKERT

Rosalee Wickert

Rosalee Wickert, 77, of Lewistown, died at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1927, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a daughter of John B. and Barbara H. Fahs Werner. She married L. Leon Wickert on Dec. 18, 1945, in Astoria. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Stephen (and Marie) Wickert of Lewistown; two daughters, Deborah May of Galesburg and Melanie (and John) Clark of Lewistown; two sisters, Anna Danner of Astoria and Esther Bowser of Elkton, Md.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Maurice Werner; and two sisters, Amelia Stambaugh and Dorothy Werner.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a custodian for Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown and at the Fulton County Farm Bureau building in Lewistown for many years.

She was a member of Illinois Street Christian Church, Fulton County Farm Bureau and Fulton County HEA.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Kevin Kessler and Rev. Frieda Foland officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery near Astoria.

Memorials may be made to her church or to Multiple Melanoma Cancer Research.
