VeteranPaul Winston

Paul R. Winston, 70, of Astoria, died at 7:25 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at Danville V.A. Medical Center in Danville.

He was born July 21, 1927, in Browning, the son of Charles O. and Ila C. Weishaar Winston. He married Helen Hoke on Aug. 11, 1946. She survives.

Also surviving are one sister, Caroline Stine of Astoria; and one nephew, Glen Stine of Astoria.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Neva Wise.

He was a member of Bader Christian Church and the Astoria American Legion Post #25. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He farmed and worked as a salesman for the Mummert Seed Company in Astoria for 17 years.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Bader Cemetery with Rev. Clifford Parry officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
