VeteranWayne Waggoner Dies Unexpectedly

Wayne G. Waggoner, 64, died unexpectedly about 8:45 a.m. Monday, May 24, 1982, the apparent victim of a heart attack suffered in the hog lot at his home at rural Astoria.

He was born Oct. 19, 1917, at Astoria, the son of George Washington and Dorothy Valentine Waggoner. On Feb. 10, 1946, he was married to Ruth Yost at Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Judy Sivia of Towanda, Mrs. Jeanie Slusser of Shipman, and Mrs. Debbie Johnson of Canton; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Russell.

Mr. Waggoner was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Astoria American Legion Post No. 25, and UAW Local 844 of Vermont.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. this afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
