He was born Nov. 22, 1915, in Isabel Township, Fulton County, a son of Loy and Gertrude Thomas Tippey. He married Doris M. Bainter on Dec. 16, 1937, in Davenport, Iowa. She preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 2006.
He also was preceded in death by one brother, Marshall Tippey.
Surviving are three sons, Scott (and Karen) Tippey and Larry (and Pam) Tippey, both of Lewistown and Randy (and Sindy) Tippey of Astoria; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was a life-long farmer, retiring in 1985.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Ray Greenfield officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
