Gertrude W. Tippey, 99, of the Astoria Health Care Center, formerly of Lewistown, died at 8:05 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 22, 1990, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born Aug. 9, 1890, in Isabel Township, the daughter of Jesse and Kathrine (Killbride) Thomas. She married Loy Tippey on Aug. 3, 1912, in Havana. He died Aug. 19, 1966.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Herbert of Lewistown and Marshall of rural Lewistown; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren; one sister, Garnett Gathman of Havana; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Barbara Short officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Health Care Center or to McDonough District Hospital.
