John Loy Tippey Dies In Hospital

John Loy Tippey, 77, of route 2, Havana, died at 3:15 p.m. Friday in Mason District Hospital in Havana after an illness of several months.

Mr. Tippey was a lifelong resident of the Havana area. He was born in Kerton Township on Jan. 17, 1889, a son of Scott and Mary Thomas Tippey. On Aug. 3, 1912, he was married to Gertrude Thomas in Havana. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Marshall and Herbert Tippey; one brother, Orville Tippey; one sister, Mrs. Dora Ogden; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren, all of Lewistown.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown. Rev. Lester Burgard officiated and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
