Collis Trone

Collis W. Trone, 86, of Astoria died at 3 p.m. Oct. 12, 2006, at Morton Villa Care Center in Morton.

He was born April 9, 1920, in Astoria Township, Fulton County, a son of Harry L. and Beulah Bollinger. He married Ruth Stambaugh on Dec. 6, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Eddie (and Gloria) of Folkston, Ga., Jerry (and Sharon) of Pekin and David (and Sharon) of Keokuk, Iowa; one daughter, Linda (and Greg) Cerminara of Shelton, Conn.; one sister, Anna Rahrig of Coldwater, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Trone Jr.

He graduated from York College in York, Neb., in 1963 as a minister. He served in the ministry in Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois, including in Browning and Astoria, retiring in 2002. He served as a minister in the Church of Christ in five different congregations. He also worked in the water treatment plant for the Village of Astoria for 11 years.

He served on the Astoria Village Board for two years.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Greg Cerminara officiating. Burial was in South Fulton Cemetery in Astoria.
