Mrs. Beulah Trone Dies Of Injuries In Car Accident

Mrs. Beulah Trone, 72, of Astoria, died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday at Mason District Hospital in Havana of injuries sustained in a four vehicle collision Sunday morning on Route 24, two miles east of Astoria.

Mrs. Trone was a member of the Astoria Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Trone was born in Schuyler County on April 18, 1897, a daughter of Samuel and Christine Bollinger. On Oct. 6, 1917, she was united in marriage to Harry Trone, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons: Collis Trone of Keokuk, Iowa, and Harry Trone, Jr., of California; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Rahrig of Coldwater, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and one brother, Lossie Bollinger of Rushville.

Several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this afternoon in the Astoria Church of the Brethren with Rev. D. Arnold Naff officiating. Burial will be in South Fulton Cemetery.

Mrs. Trone was a passenger in a car driven by her husband which was involved in the collision. Mr. Trone reportedly drove onto Route 24 from a gravel road when a car driven by Harold Steele, 41, of Astoria eastbound, hit the Trone car.

A car driven by Fred Robinson, 73, of Summum, westbound, then hit the Trone car.

A wrecker being driven by Forrest Kane, 47, of Rushville, reportedly then ran into the Robinson car.

Mr. Trone suffered broken ribs in the accident. Mr. Robinson sustained multiple cuts and bruises. Mr. Steel was not injured.
