Eddie TroneEddie Wayne Trone, 70, of Folkston, Ga., formerly of Astoria, died Feb. 25, 2014, at his residence.

He was born July 18, 1943, in Rushville, a son of Collis Wayne and Ruth Leona Stambaugh Trone. He married Sheryl Plate in 1967. She survives. He later married Gloria Trone. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Eric (and Jody) Trone of Elmwood and Erin Trone of Peoria; one brother, David (and Sharon) Trone of Keokuk, Iowa; one sister, Linda (and Greg) Cerminara of Shelton, Conn.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Trone of Pekin.

He served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Folkston Church of Christ.

He was employed by Caterpillar for 44 years before retiring.

A gathering will be held for friends and family to offer condolences from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Astoria Church of Christ, 100 E. Olive St., Astoria. Services were held March 4 at his church with Rev. Darrell Conley officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery in Waycross, Ga., with Military Honors. Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston was in charge of arrangements.
