Phyllis J. Strode of Macomb died at 2:07 p.m. Dec. 10, 2020, at Wesley Village in Macomb.
She was born in Ipava, a daughter of Olin and Faire Wickert Brown. She married Dayton Strode on Dec. 24, 1947, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1968.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Dane, Boyd and Wade; and four sisters, Margaret Thompson, Mildred Ebbert, Alice Kelleher and Ann Guida.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She worked at NTN Bowers in Macomb for 27 years, retiring in 1994. She also worked at K-Mart in Macomb for 31 years.
She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary #6 and the VFW Auxiliary #1921, both in Macomb. She also was a member of Christian Faith Center in Macomb.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Vermont Cemetery with Lyren Haney officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Peoria or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
