Boyd D. Brown, 92, of Ipava died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born July 27, 1911, in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, a son of Olin and Fairie Wickert Brown. He married Pauline Carroll on April 18, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Delta Kay Brown of Mishawka, Ind.; one brother, Wade (and Alta) Brown of Astoria; four sisters, Margaret Thompson of Ipava, Anna Guida of Napa, Calif., Alice Kelleher of Los Angeles, Calif., and Phyllis Strode of Macomb; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Ebbert; and one brother, Homer Dane Brown.

He worked at International Harvester in Canton for 33 years, retiring in 1969. He also farmed.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #2910 in Bloomington, life member of the VFW of Lewistown, Fulton Bureau and Ipava Christian Church.

Friends may call at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava from 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ipava Cemetery with Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating.

Memorials may be made to Ipava Christian Church or Ipava Fire Department.
