Larella “Lardy” L. Stambaugh, 95, of Astoria died at 3:30 a.m. Nov. 24, 2020, at The Elms in Macomb.
She was born May 26, 1925, in Beardstown, a daughter of Joseph and Laura Bair Kaffenberger. She married Verle “Buck” Stambaugh Jr. on March 23, 1945, in Lewistown. He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1990.
She also was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Allen Stambaugh; one grandson, Alex Stambaugh; one brother, Joey Kaffenberger; and one sister, Ellie Ferguson.
Surviving are one son, Bill Stambaugh of Astoria; one daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Stambaugh of Peoria; and three grandchildren, Adam Stambaugh, Jacob Stambaugh and Tessa Stambaugh.
She worked at the nursing home in Astoria for several years as a janitor.
She was a member of Bader Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She also was a member of Astoria’s Golden Gals.
A private service will be held. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
