ROSEMARY (HAMBLIN) SHIRLEY

Rosemary Shirley

Rosemary Shirley, 80, of Astoria died at 10:10 p.m. March 29, 2008, at Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.

She was born July 2, 1927, in Greenview, a daughter of Theodore R. and Rhoda E. Jockisch Hamblin. She married James E. Shirley on Dec. 6, 1946, in Havana. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Peggy (and Robert) Spencer of Astoria and Kathie (and Phil) Collins of Ipava; two sons, Ted Shirley of Macomb and Michael (and Donna) Shirley of Astoria; two sisters, Betty Krohe of Beardstown and Linda (and Jack) Danner of Astoria; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jeff Shirley; and four brothers, Richard, Thomas, David and Gerald Hamblin.

She graduated from Lewistown High School.

She was a secretary for Crescent-Forge in Havana. She was a cook for Havana Schools and a custodian for Astoria Schools.

She was a member of Bader Christian Church and Astoria Christian Church.

Services were held Wednesday, April 2, at Bader Christian Church with Gary Sheets and Matt Haberman officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
