David W. Hamblin, 60, of rural Astoria, died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Hendersonville Hospital in Hendersonville, Tenn.

He was born Sept. 6, 1938, in Mason City, a son of Theodore and Rhoda Jockisch Hamblin. He married Lola Causey on April 8, 1961, in Fort Jackson, S.C. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ronald of Hendersonville; one brother, Thomas of Havana; three sisters, Betty Krohe of Beardstown and Rosemary Shirley and Linda Danner, both of Astoria; and three grandchildren.

He was an Army veteran. He was a group merchandiser for Montgomery Ward Co. in Little Rock, Ark., for 18 years. He was a member of Vermont Masonic Lodge 116, AF&AM, in Vermont.

Services were held this morning at Astoria Christian Church with Rev. Gary Sheets officiating. Masonic services were conducted by his lodge. Burial was in Walker’s Grove Cemetery in Easton, where military rites were conducted by Astoria American Legion Post 25. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
