Alma M. Sayers, 84, of Beardstown, formerly of Browning, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998, at the Heritage Manor East Nursing Home in Beardstown.
She was born April 25, 1913, in Browning, a daughter of George and Florence Justus Stroops. She married Herbert Sayers on April 29, 1933, in Lewistown. He died April 9, 1995. Also preceding her in death were one sister, Bessie, and four brothers, Bert, Earl, Ansel and Harry.
Surviving are one son, George Sayers of Rushville; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lela Belville of Astoria.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Scott Henley officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgeville Cemetery near Browning. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
