Ruth B. Stremmel, 86, of Astoria, died at 1:25 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 1997, at Astoria Healthcare Center.
She was born June 25, 1910, in East Grand Forks, Minn., a daughter of Franklyn and Alys Lannery Hughes. She married Sam E. Stremmel on June 25, 1927, in Astoria. He died Aug. 16, 1994. She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gale (Beverly) Dutton of Phoenix; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Wynette Johnson and Lois Edwards, both of Canton, Norma Powell and Betty Clagett, both of Aurora, Mo., and Geraldine France of Industry.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, where visitation will be one hour before services. Collis Trone will officiate. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
