STANLEY L. STAMBAUGH

Stanley Stambaugh

Stanley L. Stambaugh, 39, of rural Astoria, died at 6:52 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born Nov. 24, 1957, in Rushville, a son of Wilson and Fern Hopping Stambaugh.

Surviving are his mother of Astoria; one brother, Virgil Stambaugh of Astoria; one sister, Arletta Bollinger of Astoria; seven nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He formerly worked at Astoria Fiber-Steel and at the time of his death worked at the Excel Corp. in Beardstown. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club. He was a member of Astoria Christian Church.

Services were held Saturday at Astoria Church of the Brethren with Collis Trone and Rev. Phillip Derry officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery in rural Astoria.

Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
