Anna Ratcliff

Anna RatcliffAnna R. Ratcliff, 87, of Astoria died at 3 p.m. April 3, 2012, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born May 4, 1924, in Fairview, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy Dickenson Hopping. She married Lyle D. Ratcliff on Nov. 28, 1946, in Astoria. He preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2005.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Larry Ratcliff; and three brothers, Otis Blaine, Myron "Bud" and Harold Hopping.

Surviving are one son, Dennis (and Cyndi) Ratcliff of Astoria; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

She was owner and operator of Anna's Upholstery Shop for 40 years. She worked at Mummert Seed Company and detasseled corn for several years. She was an election judge in Woodland Township for 40 years.

She was a member of Astoria American Legion Post #25 Auxiliary.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Wayne Curless officiating. Burial was in Hickory Cemetery in Astoria.

Memorials may be made to Anna's Garden at Courtyard Estates in Canton.
