Victor D. Ralston, 73, of Beardstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born Nov. 14, 1923, in Schuyler County, a son of Louis Henry and Susan Lettie Long Ralston. He married Marifrances Trone on June 16, 1943, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Gary and Brian, both of Beardstown, and Randy of Normal; one brother, LaVerne of Frederick; one sister, Rita Jones of Astoria; and eight grandchildren.
One sister preceded him in death.
He worked for the Burlington Northern railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was a volunteer at New Salem State Park. He was a member of Ripley Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith in Ripley.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sager Funeral Home, Beardstown. Calling hours will be after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Palm Cemetery, near Rushville.
Memorials may be made to a church of the donor’s choice.
