Bernita PerezBernita E. Perez, 87, of Industry died at 6:55 a.m. Nov. 21, 2012, at The Elms in Macomb.

She was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Astoria, a daughter of Roy and Josephine Gilson McMullen. She married Willard Dean Tippey on Nov. 14, 1942, in Astoria. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1971. She then married Ignacio "Danny" Perez on Feb. 27, 1976, in Quincy. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mary Jane (and Terry) Knorr of Bowen; one son, Rodney (and Mixie) Tippey of Augusta; two stepsons, Lonnie (and Christina) Perez of Gallatin, Tenn., and Rick (and Pam) Perez of Newton; one stepdaughter, Danita (and Eduardo) Cibilli of Westmoreland, Tenn.; two sisters, Helen (and George) Wise of Astoria and Joan (and Rodney) Butler of Fenton, Mo.; four grandchildren; six step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Tippey; one infant sister; and two brothers, Russell and Roy McMullen Jr.

She worked for Dennis Chicken Factory in Augusta. She then was a dietician at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, retiring in 1982. She also was a cake baker, baking many wedding cakes.

Services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Tom Mehaffy officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
