Roy C. McMullen Dies In Hospital

Roy C. McMullen, 75, a lifetime Astoria area resident died at 7 p.m. Friday, June 29, 1973, at the Culbertson Hospital in Rushville.

He was born March 5, 1899 in Fulton County, the son of George and Sarah Danner McMullen. He married Josephine Gilson in Lewistown Jan. 28, 1920. She died Oct. 28, 1972.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Summum Christian Church.

He is survived by two sons, Russell of Smithfield and Roy Jr. of Ipava; three daughters, Mrs. Bernita Tippey of Rushville, Mrs. Helen Schisler of Astoria, and Mrs. Joan Butler of Fenton, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother Ralph McMullen of Havana.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, a granddaughter, and two brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the Summum Christian Church with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
