Donald L. Prather, 74, of Rushville died at 5:11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born May 10, 1931, in Oakland Township, Schuyler County, the son of Clifford A. and Elvere Lancaster Prather. He married Estel Street on Feb. 14, 1964, at the First Christian Church in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are three brothers, Gene (and Leisle) of Huntsville, and Howard (and Glenna) and Jim (and Joyce), both of Rushville.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Max; and two sisters, Ruth Ann Prather and Emily Prather.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

He was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 2003.

He was a member of the Schuyler Farm Bureau.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rushville City Cemetery with David Haney officiating. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #4. There will be no formal visitation, but friends may call from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Worthington Funeral Home.
