LETA M. (MELLIER) PITTMAN

Mrs. Leta Pittman Dies At Age 76

Mrs. Leta M. Pittman, 76, of Astoria, died at 5:12 p.m. Friday, May 16, 1975, at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1898, in Fulton County, a daughter of Julian C. and Mary Taylor Mellier. She married Arthur J. Pittman at Smithfield on Nov. 22, 1919. He survives.

She was a member of the Astoria Church of the Brethren and the Fulton County Home Bureau.

In addition to her widower, Mrs. Pittman is survived by five sons, Howard of McLean, Va., Richard of Colchester, Charles of Astoria, Robert of Champaign, and Arthur John of Ipava; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Kessler of Logansport, Ind., Mrs. Elizabeth Gramm of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mrs. Barbara Miller of Astoria; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the Astoria Church of the Brethren with Rev. D. Arnold Naff officiating. Burial was in the Baughman Cemetery north of Smithfield.
