Rosalie MorrellRosalie M. Morrell, 97, of Camden died at 1:50 p.m. Jan. 20, 2022, at the home of her daughter in Quincy.

She was born Sept. 12, 1924, in McDonough County, a daughter of Clarence Arthur and Gladys Cornelia Morris Billingsley. She married Morris Morrell on Feb. 25, 1945, in Little Rock, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 2016.

She also was preceded in death by seven brothers, Clarence E. “Buss” (and Imogene) Billingsley, James “Rude” (and Birdie) Billingsley, Robert (and Harriet) Billingsley, Morris “Ike” (and Helen “Marie”) Billingsley, Lester “Abe” Billingsley, Harold Billingsley and Donald Billingsley; and one sister, Lucille (and Adrian) Finch.

Surviving are three children, Sharon Topel of Quincy, Gary (and Marsha) Morrell of Camden and Carl “Russ” Morrell (and husband Greg Gerhart) of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Betty (and Bill) Etter of Rushville and Barbara Taylor of Burlington, Iowa; one brother, Wayne (and Twila) Billingsley of Crossville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She worked at Kresge’s Five and Dime in Little Rock, Ark., while her husband was in the service. She was a long-time member of the Western Illinois Tole Society. She had been a member of Bethany Bible Church near Camden. Later she attended Columbus Road Baptist Church in Quincy.

Services were held Tuesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Tom Robbins officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
