H. Marie BillingsleyHelen “Marie” Billingsley, 91, of Camden died at 5:33 p.m. Jan. 15, 2022, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Missouri Township, Brown County, a daughter of Dewey Dwight and Clara Lucille Kunkel Norvell. She first married Everett Fretueg on July 14, 1948, in Mount Sterling. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1949. She later married Morris “Ike” Billingsley on March 9, 1957, in Mount Sterling. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2020.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Anthony “Tony” Norvell and Daniel Norvell.

Surviving are three children, Michael Everett “Mike” (and Marian) Fretueg of Rushville, Teresa Anita (and Brian) Haines of Huntsville and Douglas Morris (and Becky) Billingsley of Camden; nine siblings, Margie Ackers of Columbus, Ohio, Clara Billingsley of Industry, James “Jim” (and Diane) Norvell of Springfield, Dewey (and Maggie) Norvell of Kirkland, Dave (and Kathy) Norvell of Cook Station, Mo., Jerry (and Sue) Norvell of Abingdon, Patsie (and Eddie) Hopkins of Sherman, Cheryl (and Gary) Bent of Petersburg and Raymond Charles “Chuck” Norvell of Albany, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Mount Sterling in 1948. She first worked in a soda fountain shop in Kirkwood, Mo. Then she went to work at Sears and Roebuck in Mount Sterling.

She attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Rushville and was a member of the Camden Area Canasta Club. She was an election judge for many years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Rushville with Father Joseph Domfe as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mount Sterling Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.
