Donald BillingsleyDonald L. Billingsley, 85, of Industry died at 12:44 a.m. Dec. 27, 2017, at his home.

He was born June 19, 1932, in Frederick, a son of Clarence and Gladys C. Morris Billingsley. He married Clara B. Norvell on Jan. 16, 1953, in Mount Sterling. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Regie (and Jane) Billingsley of Industry, Sheila (and Don) Haley of Macomb and Bruce Billingsley of Rushville; two brothers, Morris “Ike” (and Marie) Billingsley of Camden and Wayne (and Twila) Billingsley of Crossville, Tenn.; three sisters, Rosalie Morrell of Camden, Betty (and Bill) Etter of Rushville and Barbara (and Dick) Taylor of Burlington, Iowa; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, C.E. “Buss” Billingsley, James “Rude” Billingsley, Robert Billingsley, Lester “Abe” Billingsley and Harold Billingsley; and one sister, Lucille Finch.

He served his country as a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Army while assigned on the 38th parallel during the Korean War and later helped to build churches and schools for the South Korean people.

He was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer, including raising ostriches. He also operated his own bulldozing business for many years until retiring due to illness.

He was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and the National Rifle Association.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery with military honors by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U. S. Army Honors Detail.
